Part 1 - Theory and reality

The  definition of a manager according to the Anglo-American school of economics which I graduated : "A function whose role is to facilitate the flawless execution of daily business." . In better cases you can add "and works on improvements" but this is beyond the main definition. This is the theory but the reality is controlled by corporations which are beyond the control of any nation and have the unchanged structure of the Mussolini corporation. Yes, today's world is controlled by Mussolini's corporations in which the role of the Manager is that of a "prison guard" and all workers are presumably "naughty idiots" whose main goal in life is to do mischiefs once the guard turns his back on them.

But let's look at the other field - the lower plane of the Computer Supporter. One would expect that a computer supporter's main task would be to fix issues. Wrong, this is the second main task - the first task is to "behave according to Corporate Guidelines", the support is the very remote second task. On being good in your "Corporate behavior" depends your whole career, on being good in your job within a corporation depends your self-esteem. Exactly as in the old "Communist Bulgaria". Enough rough talk though, lets dive into the party.

Bogomilism and the art of supporting computers

I'm 35 years of age. When I want I look like twenty years old, other times I look like a 60-year old gentleman. Its very easy and very difficult at th same time. You just fix the details according to which people "recognize" age and its there The difficult part is your mentality - if you do not believe in yourself no one would. In other words in order to look twenty you have to believe you are twenty, you have to become twenty.

My profession is, sorry, my professions are mainly two (in reality at least 10). The two main ways I earn money are Management and/or Computer Support. In both I am top of the top. A naive person would now think "an arrogant pig". In reality it is a "sad dick". Best is nowadays a synonym of loser, sucker or as a friend put it recently "a person who people tend to misuse". But I'm not complaining, I chose to be like that so if I do not like it I can change it.

I started to compile this book of memories and contemplations for two reasons - I want to show the paradox of our school system being next to "good for nothing" nowadays, after our society has evolved dramatically in the last centuries but the school system remains the same as several hundred years ago. The second thing I wanted to write about is the illusion that if you are "the best in something" it is enough to guarantee you a good life.

Last but not least I wanted to give some ideas to young seeking souls on how to survive in this world without losing your dreams. It is possible as many know, the risk though is that by choosing the wrong way many forget why they stepped on this road on the first place This is nothing new - this is the oldest trap of this material immense world in which (we tend to forget) we are just drops. Can one drop be the Master of the ocean ?

Illusions.

Bulgaria psikadelika

I did some thinking (surprisingly) and decided to put together a series of mixes to represent the most interesting part of Bulgarian culture - the music.

Once the richest cultural hot-spot in Europe, in the last two centuries Bulgaria has undergone a "cultural melting pot" phase which is now ending quite sadly and tragically in budget cuts (mainly in culture) and austerity measures which are aimed at killing everything authentic which is still surviving in the country. According to me this is the end of the most ancient and most profound musical knowledge on the old continent. Luckily many gems of this treasure have been preserved in authentic records a few of which are included in this easy listening, meditation or educational purposes mix.

In the "psikadelika" series I am trying to represent the shamanic and psychedelic elements of the traditional Bulgaran music and the "adoption" of these by contemporary musicians and "culture". Some of the recordings are roughly 100 years old. I hope you'll enjoy.

Shopska salad

The shopska salad is the most consumed salad in Bulgaria. It is kind of "meal N1" on the Bulgarian tables. It should be consumed fresh immediately after preparing and should not be left to rest. Use as fresh ingredients as possible (freshly picked up from the garden are the best).

0,5 kg of good tomatoes (*if the tomatoes are not good take a look at the note after the receipt)
1 big cucumber
1 big green + 1 big red pepper of the long and thick Balkan type (paprika). The traditional Balkan paprika has only two flatter sides on which it can lay, unlike the genetic dutch colorful monsters with a 'cubic' shape.
1 white onion (you can use red, yellow, white or young onion according to your taste)
25 gr of green parsley - ONLY the leaves
50 gr of white Balkan cheese
1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt (natural sea-salt is best, sold in DM) - be careful with the salt, if the cheese is salty you may not need to add any additional salt !!!

Wash the vegetables. Switch your cook to Medium or higher strength and place the two paprikas directly on it. Grill until the outer skin becomes black, then turn the paprikas on the other side and wait until the skin gets black. When ready switch the cook off and put the two paprikas aside wrapped in a plastic bag. They need to rest and soften while working the other vegetables.

Cut the tomatoes in pieces which should neither be too small nor too big and put them in a bowl. Peel the cucumber (if homegrown do not peel it), cut it in four along the length - you should get 4 long cucumber "sticks". Then cut the 4 cucumber sticks into 'quarter-circle' pieces roughly 0.5 - 1 cm thick. Add them to the tomatoes in the bowl. Cut/chop the onion into small pieces and add it; cut the parsley leaves and add them. Take the grilled paprikas out of the plastic bag, peel their outer semi-transparent thin (now black) skin off, remove the seeds, chop the cleaned paprikas into small pieces and add to the other vegetables in the bowl. Add the extra virgin oil, and in case the white cheese is not salty enough, add some salt and stir well. Cover with the crushed white cheese (the smaller the pieces - the better) and serve fresh.

* In case you do not find any good tomatoes, you may wanna rub the knife blade with garlic before cutting the tomatoes with it. This trick dramatically improves the taste of the "plastic" tomatoes sold in Central and Northern Europe.

Tarator

Tarator is a traditional Bulgarian cold soup prepared and consumed in the hot summer days and is loved for its unique refreshing and nutritive qualities. I think this is the second most consumed 'meal' during the hot summers in Bulgaria

Ingredients :
---------------------

1 kg of 3.5% fat Omur yogurt (or another type, preferably Balkan)
1 liter of drinking water
1 big cucumber
50 grams of fresh dill
2 big cloves of garlic
3 tbsp of extra virgin olive/sunflower oil
3 tbsp of crushed walnuts
1 tbsp of salt

Beat the yogurt in a pot until smooth, add the water and continue beating until smooth. Peel the cucumber and cut it into very small pieces, add it and stir. Chop the garlic, fennel and add them together with the walnuts and salt. While stirring add the oil. Stir well and leave it covered in the fridge to rest for an hour. Enjoy!
